Description

Light, rigid, and built to turn over. Precision-engineered slab formwork for fast, clean floor casting.

A system that balances strength, weight, and reuse value

The Light Steel Alloy Slab Formwork is a modular, fully welded shuttering system designed for horizontal slab casting in reinforced concrete construction. Manufactured from high-strength steel plates and stiffened with deep side ribs and reinforcing square tubes, it delivers the rigidity of traditional steel formwork at a weight your crew can actually handle — cutting erection time, labor cost, and per-cycle cost across every pour.

Engineered construction

Every panel is a monocoque welded frame made of five components:

  • Panel – 1.5mm high-strength steel face plate
  • Side ribs – 1.5mm thick, 130mm high
  • Edge banding – 1.7mm thick, 65mm high
  • Reinforcing ribs – transverse braces against deflection
  • Reinforcing square tubes – rear-frame stiffening

The result is a panel that deforms as one rigid unit under concrete pressure, holds its line and level across wide slab bays, and stays flat pour after pour.

Standard modular sizes

Specification (mm)Weight / kg
900 × 90023.1
1800 × 60031.2
1800 × 90043.6

Modular dimensions combine freely on site to close almost any bay width — no cutting, minimal off-cuts, maximum panel utilization.

Fast, tool-free assembly

  • Panels join through pins and tabs — no bolts, no loose parts, no threading.
  • A special support head carries the deck during casting for quick alignment and propping.
  • Tight, near-invisible joints minimize grout leakage and concrete patch-up.

Connection points — two ways to tie in

connection formwork

The slab formwork connects to adjacent formwork through two standard connection methods:

1. Connection with wooden formwork (木模板) Where the slab meets timber shuttering — for example at edges, infills, or mixed-formwork pours — the panels tie positively to the wooden template using a combination of angle steel (角钢) and wooden template. The angle steel provides a rigid steel-to-wood transition, so the joint stays tight and level with no grout loss at the meeting face. This lets you blend light steel and timber on the same slab without compromising joint quality.

2. Connection with wall formwork (墙模板) For slab-to-wall pours, the panels tie to the wall formwork through the C-groove, giving a clean, leak-tight corner and a continuous edge. When no matching slab panel is available at the wall junction, the system closes the edge with a 65 steel template, or again with the angle steel + wooden template combination — so the slab always locks cleanly into whatever wall shuttering you already have on site.

These two connection points mean the light steel slab system is not a closed proprietary system: it integrates with both timber and your existing steel wall formwork.

Why contractors choose it

  • High strength – safely withstands full concrete pressure
  • Large assembly rigidity – keeps line and level across wide bays
  • High manufacturing precision – accurate dimensions, joint after joint
  • Tight joints – cleaner concrete, less finishing work
  • Resistance to deformation – no buckling or warping under heavy cycles
  • High turnover rate – far more reuses than plywood
  • High utilization rate – standard sizes mean fewer idle panels and off-cuts
  • Good overall integrity – one rigid frame, predictable performance

Lower cost per pour

Light panels plus pin-and-tab fixing mean a smaller crew and faster erection and strike. High turnover spreads the panel cost across many pours, driving per-cycle cost far below timber. A flat steel face and tight joints cut surface-finishing time and speed up handover.

Applications

High-rise residential and commercial slabs, industrial buildings, parking structures, transfer slabs, bridges, culverts, and civil works decks — and any slab-plus-wall pour that needs one integrated formwork system.
